Icy cold day today. I walked through the woods to the ocean. Remembered Tulum and the lovely meal we had at the funky restaurant pictured above. Now I am curled up on the couch, warm and relaxed. May all beings be well.

Encaustic piece from my Judy Wise class.
I used plaster to build up texture on the barnwood backing. Then added pastel, wax and fire! Embellished with copper that I distressed and copper mesh that I added patina to with the torch and carpet tacks. LOVE.
So thrilled to have the sun shining this afternoon after a foggy morning. Walked in the woods and the birds were so busy, it feels like spring is on her way, my favorite month. Worked on my altered astronomy book that I bought at a flea market in San Francisco. Played with the Gel Plate and some collage. Full of gratitude today. LOVE.

So much fun playing with my Gel plate, mono printing, a new experience for me. I put on the music, donned my Bahamian apron and let the color and texture play begin. What a treat to be able to make my own papers for collage, with exactly the colors I want. I find it so satisfying to use all original pieces and I have been glazing, sewing and embellishing with pan pastels!
This photo is from our trip to Tulum, and it is palm tree texture, now to recreate it with my mono printing plate, i love organic lines.

Commitment
My commitment to myself is to be more connected with the world and all the interesting people in it, as well as to be more willing to reveal my artwork, ideas and personality on line. So I am curled up this rainy afternoon, after being out at my Yoga class. I went to my favorite store where they were having their semi-annual sale and bought some beautiful Purple boots! My first pair of purple shoes ever, really embracing being unique, an artist and doing what pleases me.
A close up of one of my paintings from the Flora Bowley class I took.
